December in Florida (Poem by Mark Swift)

December's here, and the end has come,
New Years and Christmas have arrived.
Presents, snow, celebration, cheering,
This is the moment we all become one.
But here in Florida, there is no snow,
The air is warm and the sun beats down.
But 2019 is around the corner,
So bring out the sand!
We have a celebration to attend!

  1. Awww I love this! Especially the last two lines, "So bring out the sand! We have a celebration to attend!" It's really hopeful, bright and optimistic, I love it! Great job! :)

    1. I'm actually currently writing a story in an alternate universe where sand is rare in the entire world except Florida, and a boy is visiting Florida for the first time XD

    2. What? Sand rare? How about Cuba? (the sand there is actually really soft, not scratchy like over here. Does Florida have the sand it always had, or does it have like an evolved soft kind of sand.) How about every other island? What about Long Island Sound in New York? How did this sand disappear? This is important. Anyway, it sounds pretty interesting. Are you going to post it when you're done? I would really like to read it. :)

    3. Alternate universe :D I can do anything I want in alternate universes lol
It just never existed anywhere else. Just like how you can find elephants in the wild in Africa but not in South America.
Yes, I'm gonna post it when I'm done :D
