Defenses (Poem by Mark Swift)

Walls block foes,
Shields stop swords,
Wars halt spells;
But my walls are down,
Letting loss claim me.
My shields have fallen,
Letting anger bite me.
My ward has dissolved,
Letting sorrow fell me.
But my allies are many,
So tall I'll stand,
Content and free.
Choose your enemies wisely,
Pain hasn't.

  2. I LOVE the fortress/medieval battle analogy. It's very creative and whimsical. Is it about friendship? (remember I'm terrible at these things)

    2. Really? That's actually what I liked the most. Ending poems is difficult and this one I think is done well

    3. Right, but it's aggressive, on a poem that I attempted to make more hopeful :P

    4. Could be why I like it so much lol. But it's aggressive towards the right things.

    1. Thanks!
Btw, I notice you're using "Shaly P.", now, do you want me to go back and delete prior comments that revealed your full last name?

    2. Okay, traces of your last name have been erased from this blog :D

  5. If you can, please do. I didn't realize in the beginning how if you put your email, google will put you full name. And when I tried to use another name I'd get a bunch of photos asking me to pick different items to prove I am not a robot. Anyway, thank you if you can. If its not too much trouble. :)
