Colors (Poem by Mark Borne)

Red for blood,
Black for pain,
Gray for shame,
Orange for fire;
Brown for earth,
Gold for riches,
Purple for royalty,
Blue for peace;
Yellow for brightness,
White for purity,
Green for life,
Pink for love.

  1. I love this! I matched it up with my book character's personalities and back stories and it's perfect! Great visual imagery. :)

    1. Lol Thanks! I was feeling uninspired and just wrote colors plus the adjectives/nouns I associate with them. Sort of. I mean, blue I associate with oceans, not peace, but I worked as close to adjectives as I could, and I associate oceans with peace, so...lol

    2. It's amazing though. The ocean is peaceful.

    3. *Sighs* ah, the blue-ringed octopus. So peaceful, so poisonous. ;)

    4. ...maybe it's peaceful because it kills before the peace is disrupted? :/

    5. true. but when disturbed, it becomes black (pain) feels like orange (fire) and then you loose your green (life). XD

    6. It all happens to you especially despite the fact that you pink (love) dangerous creatures that will kill you instantly lol

    7. SO TRUE! Then, you'll be buried in brown (earth).

    8. By then you'll have lost all your red (blood)

    9. Then at last things'll be restored to blue (peace)

    10. You can't feel blue (peace) if you feel gray (shame)

    11. You can't feel grey (shame) if you're dead.

    12. How do you know? Have you ever died? Lol

    13. Yes. Did you even read Viva la Bacon? XD

    14. Yep, I also read the note you attached, and it talks about CREATIVE LIBERTIES :)

    15. The creative liberties were actually used on my last words, not the death.

  2. Ooh, I love this. I love how each color is connected to a theme. That’s so cool and when it gets to pink, well everyone knows what pink is about. I love how it wraps up like that. Amazing work!

    1. Pink can mean a lot of things, depending on the personality; when I was, like, 7, my favorite color was pink because I associated it with youth
      But thanks, I appreciate it :D

  3. This is one of my favorites, ironically.
