Me: AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! LARK LARK LARK!!!!!!!!!! SNAKE!!!!!!! AHHH!
Lark, waking up groggily: What?
Me: breathing heavily: Snake in the garage, a black racer oh my STARS!!!!!
Lark: Get someone to get rid of it - I mean, fear not human! Super Lark will save you!
Me: Have you been reading comic books again?
Lark, nervous laugh: No.
Me: Hmm. Okay. anyway, I am terrified. a snake, in the garage. what has this world come to???
Lark: I'll go get it.
Five minutes later...
Lark: HUMAN, HUman!there is a giant worm in the garage.!!!! it is at least fifty feet long, and I need my sword.
Me: what sword? it wasn';t a worm it was a snake.
Lark: Do I look like a pest control? Call a foolsh mortal. not a royal feline.
Me: Lark, don't joke about this.
Lark: Tomorrow, you are going to go and name the snake. Like Franken lizard. I bet it will be... what? The monster from the blue garage?
Me: didn't you run away from it too?
Lark: No. Besides, I am a cat. Cats don't run from everything. Certainly not dogs or snakes.
Me: but what about Miss Ann's little Yorkie, Cooper? He came over and you ran for the
Lark: Catnip. I ran for the catnip.
Enter Faith, a blonde little Tibetan spaniel.
Faith: What about Cooper and a snake?
Lark: There is a big monster in the garage waiting to eat little dogs like yourself. It is big, hairless, dark and HUNGRY!
Faith shivers.
Me: Pay no attention to him Faith.
Lark: Btw, I saw the snake leave the garage after you ran screaming.
Me: WHAT?????? WHY DIDN"T YOU TELL ME? and why did you run in the house screaming?
Faith faints
Lark: Because the snake had children.
Me I faint.
Lark: okay, well I am going to go finish writing this adventure of my bravery, and then brake open the catnip and cat treat cabinet. Don't tell anyone.
This is hilarious; just absolute gold! This is now my new favorite Lark Adventures ‘episode’.
ReplyDeleteThis was well-written as well, and so humorous. I loved it. Amazing, amazing work!
Every time I think it couldn't get better, Al finds a way to make it better -nods-
DeleteLark!! Yay! He is my favorite cat ever. I like him better than Garfield and O' Malley, from the "Aristocats."
ReplyDeleteGreat story, Al. :)
Love it
