How To Write A Novel (Poem by Luxa)

How to write a novel Is not an easy subject to teach Your first draft may be awful And you may be using the wrong speech But don't let that get you down Stand proud and face these challenges in stride There may be times where you want to shutdown When you feel like all hope has died But if you find the courage to come back from the brink You'll find you came out stronger The pressures before - those that caused you to sink Will no longer drive you into a corner How to write a novel Is not an easy subject to teach It is not something you should make based on a model It is not something that is out of reach If you are truly determined A novel is something that will make you thrilled Your future may be uncertain but Don't let deter you from making your mark on the world

Author's Note: If you liked this piece please come check out my blog 'Luxa's Corner'. It is fairly new so there is not a whole lot content but that will change very soon.

Mark's Addition: Ironically, this isn't a novel itself, just a poem.

  1. I love this! it is SO accurate

"but if you find the courage to come back from the brink
You'll find you came out stronger."

These lines are so deep. It could refer to anything:
    depression, failure, etc.
Those lines refer to so many of my book characters!
