Florida (Poem by Mark Borne)

It's amazing how much grows,
Even while we wither and whine.
The heat of Florida,
A place of forests of life,
A place where inside is best,
And where sweat is daily.
A place where turtles crawl,
And birds sing and dolphins dance,
And squirrels run on cables for roads.
It's amazing how much lives;
Maybe we will, too,
If we give it a chance.

Mark's Addition: The problem is, I already gave Florida a chance. It didn't help.

    1. Unfortunately, yes. I usually don't like moving from place to place, but I would be willing to move to a cooler climate :/

  3. This is hilarious and so true, I love this :) and so true, you forgot about the mosquitos though, the worst part of Florida in my opinion

    My favorite part is the squirrels on the cables for roads, its so pretty and paints such a picture :)

    1. Squirrels using cables is something inspired by my great-grandma; she'd always sit outside, eat breakfast, and watch squirrels crawl over them! I think she even named those squirrels
