In this new series I'm doing, I'm outlining the basics of each Infinity Stone from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which I'll reference as the MCU).

First up is the first Infinity Stone to have made an appearance in the MCU: the Space Stone. It didn't initially appear as the Space Stone, instead appearing in the form known as the Tesseract. The Space Stone was a very simple stone to understand. It allowed one to move from Point A to Point B through the usage of portals, though not individual teleportation.
The first MCU villain to utilize the Space Stone was Red Skull, but perhaps the most notable user was Loki, who used it to bring an army to Earth. When he was stopped, the Tesseract was then delivered to S.H.I.E.L.D. for safekeeping.

DeleteHow does it's appearance in Captain Marvel fit in? That's one part I'm still confused about. The way I understood it before, Howard Stark found it in the ice after Captain America First Avenger, and since he helped found SHIELD, that's why SHIELD had it at the beginning of Avengers. But I can't figure out how Mar Vell got it in Captain Marvel.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this is a good idea, because it can be hard to follow where each infinity stone has been and what it does.
DeleteAfter Captain America, it was found in the ice, and eventually it ended up in Mar Vell's hands. I'm not quite sure how, either, to be honest :/

I researched it, and turns out, Howard Stark was a contributor to Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., which was the project where Mar Vell experimented with the Space Stone. So, maybe Howard Stark "donated" the Space Stone? I don't know, that's pretty uncharacteristic for a Stark...
