Whew, this is about as active as this blog has been in AGES! (In other words, since June.) There is so much to go through! -Looks through stack of papers- Well, actually, not really. It's only gonna seem like a lot because I'm going to be rambling a lot.
LOOKING BACK...
First, I'd like to comment how I believe the Six Word Story Contest has probably been the biggest and most successful contest hosted on this blog, ever. Let me know what you thought about it, and if it was popular, then I'll look into doing similar contests! (Maybe even 1 Word Prompt Response contests...who knows??)
Many of you may have forgotten, but I had a poll active, allowing you to vote whether I'd start posting my Harry Potter fan-fiction here, my Star Wars fan-fiction here, or try to make it without them. The votes selected Harry Potter, which is unfortunate, since I've hit a roadblock on it, though we won't get to that point until 2020, I don't think. Hopefully, writer's block leaves by then, and it can be a continuous stream to the end of the story!
SPOTLIGHT AUTHOR TIME!
The theme for the Spotlight Author is "Fall". It could be a literal approach; fall from pride, fall from glory, fall from whatever...or a symbolic approach, regarding the season. The winner of the Spotlight Author, I have noted, used a symbolic approach. Congratulations, Gabby L., for winning this Spotlight Author! (And bear in mind, now that you've won two things in a row, I'm gonna be judging you with higher expectations.)
The next Spotlight Author theme will be Pumpkin. This is once again up to your full interpretation. Will it be a literal pumpkin, will it have to do with with a sentient pumpkin, or will you find angles to approach this from that I didn't think about? (The more creative, the better!)
WHAT'S NEXT?
Well, now we have a lot to look forward to. One such example is NaNoWriMo! I will be participating this year, and I hope to win. You can check out the details on the NaNoWriMo 2019 page!
Also, since the anniversary of this blog is in November (November the 12th, to be precise!) and I'll probably be a bit busy then, I will be performing all the anniversary activities this month, October! Still no details about said activities at this time, and I totally am not currently googling "Fun Activities To Do During Memorable Occasions" in another tab.

There are so many more holidays for October. Some seem stupid to me, but many are legitimately concerning. I only included what I feel are the most important ones, and also what I figured were several hilarious ones (as well as the occasional one that I myself am connected to), but if you want the full list I found, go to this external site: http://www.holidays-and-observances.com/october-holidays.html*
*BE CAREFUL WHEN VISITING EXTERNAL SITES! You never know where you're going! This includes on my blog, because even though I try to link sites that are family friendly, sites can change, and therefore what I link may have once been safe and may now be dangerous. Be careful at all times when visiting other sites.

Harry potter won? you've betrayed me, friends!! XD
ReplyDeleteI get dibs on a death of a pumpkin story.
October: ADHD and dyslexia awareness month? THIS IS THE MONTH OF DEMIGODS!
My favorite holiday this month is Sarcasm awareness month and CAPS LOCK DAY. XD
oh, you also have the wrong link at the very bottom.
DeleteAnd congrats gabby!
Yep, Harry Potter won lol
Delete...as you wish, I suppose xD Not sure anyone would challenge you for that lol
Lol It appears so. I think I remember hearing about October being ADHD Awareness Month back when I was in Texas, but since I had no idea what ADHD was (let alone that I had it), I was just like, "Eh, that's not gonna stick in my mind for very long." Basically, a very ADHD-like thing to say xD
No, you're supposed to say, "My favorite holiday this month is caps lock day and SARCASM AWARENESS MONTH" :D That way you caps lock the wrong month and utilize sarcasm on the other lol
...oops :/ Idk how that happened lol. I'll fix it momentarily
The embarrassing thing is that I didn't just put down the wrong link, but it was very obviously the wrong link and I didn't notice :P
Deleteoh well. It has more chapters, so it'll last longer
Deletelol.
It really is. Foreshadowing!
I should have done that!
Yup. XD
True :D My Star Wars story has, like, 14-15 total, and my Harry Potter story has 27 as of right now
DeleteAnd that's why I love foreshadowing, because so much of my life acted as foreshadowing for me when it was painfully obvious to everyone else lol
You should've lol
Thank you, Kyra!
DeleteGO GABBY!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteCongratulations, Gabby girl! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thank you!
DeleteWow, I cannot believe I won two things in a row, this is awesome, you all are awesome and this blog is awesome. Thank you everyone <3
ReplyDeleteAlso, higher expectations? Oh-no, welp, there goes my winning streak XD
Great notes and I love the holidays lol also looking forward to reading the HP piece :)
Yep, goodbye winning streak! :D
DeleteThere are a lot of holidays...October could almost be called, "Everything Awareness Month" lol
-.- xD
DeleteAnd honestly it rly could be xD
