Watch Over Me (Poem by Mark Borne)

I'm a coward,
I'm a liar,
I'm a cheat,
I'm a thief.
Watch me,
as I run
from Your love.
Watch me,
as I claim
to follow You.
Watch me,
as I act
behind Your will.
Watch me,
as I steal
Your holy name.
Lord, I'm a sinner,
So please, O Lord,
Watch over me.

  2. DANG. This is deep! I love the biblical ending. Poems like this traditionally "love poems", but I loved how you subverted our expectations

You could consider using images so there isn't a gaping whole of grey depression above each post. Just an opinion :)

  3. This is beautiful. There is not enough words to capture it. Its like a Psalm, but not quite. Its just beautiful. I can't say anything else.
